What is now Jed's Island Resort, located along McArthur Highway, Calumpit, Bulacan, started out as the private resthouse of a native of Apalit, Pampanga. Then consisting mainly of a native cottage and one swimming pool, the property covered only a few hundred square meters, until engineering development started in 1994 to see the construction of nine other swimming pools, deluxe air-conditioned and open native cottages, a must-photograph hanging bridge, a stylized waterfall, and several private or jacuzzi islands.

To achieve this, the purchase of surrounding land properties, now nearing a total of ten hectares, was necessitated. In the process of construction, a three hectare fishing and boating lagoon was also produced by excavating tons and tons of earth from what used to be barren land, creating what is now a balanced ecosystem for fishes and other freshwater wildlife and fauna.

Jed's Island Resort was inaugurated over a year later, in April 8, 1995. The opening ceremonies was attended by some well-known personalities in the showbiz and music worlds, as well a political luminaries and local government officials. The opening of Jed's Island Resort was in some ways instrumental to the upgrading of the municipality of Calumpit into an economic magnet, attracting guests and paying customers from all over Luzon as well as foreigners from other countries.

Two years later, in 1997, the resort opened an olympic-sized swimming pool, its eleventh swimming pool, to cater to its growing number of visitors, whereas late in 1998, the construction of one hundred other native and deluxe cottages was initiated to bring the total, by summer of 1999, to two hundred and twenty cottages in all inside the resort.

During its five summers of existence, Jed's has welcomed actors and actresses, singers, and band members from showbiz as its guest, and many production companies have had the pleasure of shooting local and foreign films in the resort's many scenic and camera-worthy facilities. Now a buzzword among Manila's resort going population, Jed's Island Resort continues to attract the adventure-seeker and nature-lover in all of us, offering grand panoramas of nature and a delightful respite from the daily grind of life.

And to cater to the whims of its valued guests and patrons, Jed's Island Resort has in its drawing boards the oncoming construction of other swimming pools, a franchized brand fast food restaurant, hotel rooms and other facilities everyone will enjoy and love.

At the onset of Summer 2000, the resort shall be inaugurating a three story building that houses several air-conditioned rooms and three multi-purpose halls function. The building has a viewing tower that is the highest climbable structure in the whole of Calumpit, affording a view of much of the adjoining towns and breathtaking vista of Mt. Arayat in Pampanga. Also set at be inaugurated is a second Olympic-sized pool good for sporting events like racing or synchroswimming.

JED's Island Resort started to operate as resort on March 27, 1995. Before it's operation, it was just a plain rest house of a native of Apalit, Pampanga. It's very easy to find our resort because it is just along the main road of McArthur highway, Gatbuca, Calumpit, Bulacan.

Covering more than eight hectares of recreational property. We can claim that we are one of the largest resorts here in Central Luzon. It comprises of 11 swimming pools, more than 300 cottages, 35 deluxe aircon rooms, 2 hanging bridges, 4 hectares of man-made fishing lagoon, function room, covered basketball court and spacious parking area.

It became popular due to its non-stop development and improvement of the facilities. That's why during summer, we are always expecting crowds of our guests and one of the favorites shooting location of movies and TV shows.

Our personnel are composed of Administrative staff, Maintenance staff, Lifeguards, Security guards and Pool technicians, and Ushers. However, during summer we hire additional Receptionists to assist and guide our guests. Most of them are college students whom we train for the summer period, through this we help them achieve good personal relation and at the same time provide a job during there vacation.

Our markets are the upper and lower class of people. We attract upper class by reason of its unique and cool architectural design of our resort while we can attract lower class of people due to our affordable rates.

Aside from swimming, our guests can recreate and enjoy through billiards, basketball, videoke, video games, fishing and during summer we have also boating and horse-back riding. It is 24- hour operation and during summer we can say that we have no brown out since we have a back-up generator standing by at all times.
